Beetle-Bots are coming to Whistler!

Here’s a little video of the prototype Beetle-Bot we’ve been developing recently. We’re teaming up with Whistler Arts Council to bring you a beetle-bot building workshop for 12-16 year-olds. Register for the workshop on Nov 2nd to build one of your own! Not only will you take home a cool autonomous robot, you’ll get to tune up your tool-wielding skills and do a little soldering as well. The Beetle-Bot is a great entry-level robot and makes its navigational decisions using just its whiskers attached to a pair of micro switches. But, as you can see, it does an amazingly good job of getting around obstacles - pretty remarkable considering that there isn’t a silicon chip or even a transistor anywhere in its body! Thanks to Rebecca and the team at Whistler Arts Council for hosting this event.
