Making Jewellery from Surplus Electronics

On Wednesday night, Zee and Simon played around with a new idea of ours - using surplus electronic components to create interesting and unique art pieces. Electronic parts look cool and have a wide range of textures, colours and sizes making them perfect for crafting. We think it’s better to upcycle stuff like this rather than allow it to be dumped as waste. We were joined by a few other people at Vancouver Hack Space and had a lot of fun, using braiding, twisting and soldering techniques as well as - you guessed it - the hot glue gun. Would you like to see this offered as a workshop? Have you done anything similar?  (send us pictures!) Do you have ideas for projects or pieces that could be made in this way?
